Can I dictate text into the app?

You can speed up entry of text into the ExcellGrowth app by using dictation rather than the keyboard.

This can save a huge amount of time (especially on iPhone), and help you capture much more information for future reference within the app.

Of course, you should pick a quiet, private place to do this where you won't be disturbed (or disturb others) and your data will remain confidential.

iPhone & iPad (iOS)

When you tap on any text entry field (e.g. to name a new goal or habit), the keyboard will pop up.

In the bottom right hand corner, you'll see a microphone icon. If you tap on it, you can start speaking and the device will convert what you say into text.

When you're finished, tap the mic button again and dictation will stop. You can edit your entry using the keyboard the usual way.

Mac (macOS)

Dictation for macOS is also available but it requires a little set up.

Setting things up for macOS

• Tap the Apple icon in top left corner of the Mac screen

• Click System Settings

• Scroll down and click Keyboard

• In Dictation, toggle it on and ensure you have a microphone selected

• Select the Shortcut that makes most sense for you

Dictating into the app

• Click on a text field in goals, habits, journal or coaching

• Tap the shortcut key on your keyboard

• Start dictating

• Tap the shortcut key again to stop

• Review and edit the text you just dictated

• Repeat with other text fields
