How do goals differ from habits?

Updated: Nov 13

A goal has a defined start & end date and a defined outcome, while a habit is a defined behaviour repeated at regular intervals without a defined end point.

They are both important to drive performance.

Arguably, habits are the primary driver of sustained performance over time, but people and organisations are used to seeing specific outcomes along the way to demonstrate progress is being made and change is happening.

The Achieve Results app enables you to track both goals and habits, and where appropriate link them.

An effective set of habits would include "keystones" focusing on sleep, nutrition, exercise, mindfulness etc along with more targeted ones supporting goals.
